EchoOwl is designed for young learners. This policy explains clearly and honestly how the app handles data — and why there's very little to explain.
✅ The Short Version
EchoOwl does not collect, store, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-ins, no analytics tracking, and no data sent to any server. Everything in the app runs locally on your device.
👶 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
EchoOwl is directed at children under 13. We take this seriously. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable international laws:
- We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
- No name, email, location, device ID, or usage data is collected.
- No account creation is required or possible.
- No behavioral advertising is used.
📦 Data We Collect
None. EchoOwl operates entirely offline with locally bundled content. The app does not transmit any information to EchoOwl or any third party.
App preferences (language selection, difficulty setting) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS/Android system storage. This data never leaves your device.
🛒 In-App Purchases
EchoOwl offers optional language packs as in-app purchases, processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). EchoOwl does not receive or store any payment or billing information. Please refer to Apple's and Google's privacy policies for details on purchase data handling.
🔊 Microphone & Permissions
EchoOwl does not request access to the microphone, camera, contacts, location, or any other device permissions. All audio in the app is pre-recorded and bundled with the app.
🔗 Third-Party Services
EchoOwl does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or data collection services. There are no third-party trackers of any kind.
🔄 Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. We will not reduce privacy protections without notice.
